kinetic service statistics are monthly reports that detail your organization's use of the kinetic service, including account, group, and web site statistics. These statistics are provided by MOREnet for every organization with the kinetic service and you can review them on the Web.

To view the kinetic service statistics for your organization, specify the following URL in your browser and replace your-domain-name with your site's domain name:

http://your-domain-name/ar/kinetic/

The kinetic Service Statistics page displays with links to reports for each year of your kinetic service. Click a link to view the monthly reports and trend graphs for your organization's kinetic service.

The kinetic Service Statistics pages cannot be edited. However, you can customize the header and footer used in the pages as described in Custom Headers & Footers.

Weekly kinetic Service Usage Report

A usage report is generated every week for your organization. It contains the information you need to determine your organization's fees according to the kinetic Service fee structure. This report includes totals for disk usage and e-mail accounts. The report further breaks down the disk usage by web site and individual e-mail account.

The weekly kinetic Service usage report is sent to the kinetic-reports@your-domain-name e-mail alias (replace your-domain-name with your e-mail domain). By default, this e-mail alias is configured to deliver the e-mail messages to your organization's kinetic Service administrators. To customize the recipients of this report, use kinetic Manager to modify the kinetic-reports e-mail alias.

kinetic service statistics are provided on a monthly basis. Click one of the links to review the specified month of statistics. The statistics are divided into the sections described below.

Summary

The Summary section includes a top-view of your kinetic statistics, including the following:

• Domains. The number of domains registered to your organization for the kinetic service.
• Web Sites. The number of web sites associated with your kinetic service.
• Page Views. The total number of page views for your organization's web sites.
• Groups. The total number of groups within your organization.
• Accounts. The total number of e-mail accounts in your organization.
• Web MB.. The total amount of disc space, measured in MB, that your web site uses on the server.
• Mail MB.. The total amount of disc space, measured in MB, that your organization's e-mail accounts use on the server.
• Home MB.. The total amount of disc space, measured in MB, that your organization's accounts use on the server for personal file storage in the account home directories.
• Total MB. The total amount of disk space, measured in MB, used on the server by the previous three categories (web site, e-mail accounts, and home directories).

Web Site Statistics

The Web Site Statistics section provides the following information for each of your organization's web sites:

• Web Site Name. A name provided to your organization's web sites for accounting purposes.
• Domain. A link to each domain registered to your organization for the kinetic service. Note that a domain named "Global" is displayed for every organization. This domain is used for accounting purposes so that organization may assign web publishing permissions that span multiple web sites. For most customers this domain may be ignored.
• Page Views. The total number of page views for the domain. A page view is a single request to view a web page on your site.
• Publishers. The total number of e-mail accounts that have web publishing permissions for the domain.
• Size MB. The amount of disk space, measured in MB, that your web site uses on the server.

Account Statistics

The Account Statistics section provides a summary of your organization's account usage, including:

• Accounts. The total number of e-mail accounts in your organization.
• Disabled. The total number of e-mail accounts in your organization with a disabled status.
• Removed. The total number of e-mail accounts in your organization with a removed status.
• Admins. The total number of account administrators in your organization.
• Publishers. The total number of accounts with web publishing permissions in your organization.

Group Statistics

The Group Statistics section provides a complete display of group names within your organization and the types of accounts within those groups. Groups and subgroup names are divided by the / character. You may want to periodically review this report to ensure that groups are being created in a fashion that meets your organization's needs.

Directory Usage

The Directory Usage section provides a summary of directories within your organization's web sites. Note that this section only displays directories two levels deep for your web sites. Next to each directory name is the amount of disk space, measured in MB, used by files in that directory on the server.

Below the links to the monthly reports are trend graphs for your organization.These graphs are generated monthly and span the entire year of service. The following trend graphs are provided:

• Account Breakdown. This trend graphs provides an overall summary of accounts in your organization. Data is graphed for the total number of accounts, disabled accounts, removed accounts, administrator accounts, and web publishers.
• Web Server Page Views. This trend graph displays the total number of page views for all of your organization's web sites. A page view is a single request to view a web page on your site.
• kinetic Service Disk Usage. This trend graph displays the following:
  • Total home directory disk usage
  • Total mail folder disk usage
  • Total web site disk usage (this includes multiple sites if applicable)
  • Total disk usage for home directories, mail folders, and web sites
  The values are measured in kB or MB.
