Configuring Outlook and Outlook Express E-mail
Settings for All Clients
User Name: Complete e-mail address
Example: johndoe@tnp.more.net
Server Settings: Use either POP or IMAP for
receiving (incoming) mail; use SMTP for sending
(outgoing) mail.
MOREnet Outgoing Server (SMTP)
SMTP (with authenticated SSL encryption)
All: smtp.kinetic.more.net
Authentication is by user name (complete e-mail address) and password using
SSL.
SSL uses port 465 or, in some clients, an alternate port.
MOREnet Incoming Servers (POP or IMAP)
POP, POP3 (no encryption)
K-12 TNP: pop.tnp.more.net
REAL: pop.real.more.net
eMINTS: pop.teachers.emints.org
All others: pop.yourdomainname |

IMAP (no encryption)
K-12 TNP: imap.tnp.more.net
REAL: imap.real.more.net

Configure SSL and Secure SMTP in Outlook
The following instructions work with
Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2003. Customers using older versions will need to
upgrade or use Outlook Express.
- Open Outlook. Click Tools > E-mail Accounts.

Select View or change existing e-mail accounts. Click Next.
- In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, select the e-mail account
and click Change.
- In the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) dialog box, complete
the information as shown in the example below.
- Clear the check box next to Log on using Secure Password Authentication
(SPA).
- Click the More Settings button.

Click the Outgoing Server tab.
- Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
- Select Log on using and type your new e-mail address in
the User Name box.
Note: You must
type your full e-mail address in the User Name box.
- Type your password. For security reasons, it is a good idea to clear the Remember
password box.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- In the text box next to Incoming server (POP3), type 110.
Clear the box next to This
server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).
- In the text box next to Outgoing server (SMTP),
type 465. Select the box next to This
server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).

Click OK, then Next, then Finish.
Configure SSL and Secure SMTP in Outlook Express for Windows
The following instructions work with Outlook Express versions
5.0.6 and above. Customers using older versions will need to upgrade.
- Open Outlook Express. Click Tools > Accounts.
- Click the Mail tab.
- Select the Account that you normally use for e-mail and click
Properties.

Click the Servers tab.
- Under Outgoing Mail Server, select the My server
requires authentication check box.
- Click Settings.
- Select Log on using and type your new
e-mail address in the Account name box.
Note: You must type your full e-mail address
in the Account name box.
- Type your password. For security reasons, it is a good idea to clear
the Remember
password box.
- Clear the Log on using Secure Password Authentication check
box.
- Click OK.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- In the text box next to Outgoing mail (SMTP), type 465.
Select the check box next to This server requires
a secure connection (SSL).
- In the text box next to Incoming mail (POP3), type 110.
Clear the check box next to This server requires a
secure connection (SSL).
- Click OK.
